Chicken Marinade

Serving

Method

Marinate Chicken

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a large bowl, mix together buttermilk, hot sauce, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken breasts, ensuring they are fully submerged in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.

Prepare Chicken

  1. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In a shallow dish, combine flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, and salt.

  2. 3

    Bread the Chicken

Remove marinated chicken from the fridge. Dredge each piece of chicken in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coating. Shake off excess flour and place the breaded chicken on a plate.

  3. 4

    Fry the Chicken

In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded chicken pieces. Fry for about 6-8 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and let drain on paper towels.

Make Waffles

  1. 5

    Prepare Waffle Batter

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  2. 6

    Cook Waffles

Preheat your waffle iron according to manufacturer's instructions. Pour an appropriate amount of batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook until golden brown and crispy. Repeat with remaining batter.

Serve

  1. 7

    Plate the Dish

On a plate, stack a waffle and top it with a piece of crispy chicken. Add a pat of butter on top and drizzle with warm maple syrup. Serve immediately.
