Seasoning and Condiments

Method

Cooking the Eggs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Eggs

Crack the eggs into a bowl and beat them lightly with a fork if you prefer scrambled, or leave them whole if you like them sunny side up or over easy.

  2. 2

    Cook the Eggs

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little olive oil. Pour in the beaten eggs or crack the eggs directly into the skillet. Cook to your desired doneness, seasoning with salt and pepper.

Cooking Bacon or Sausage

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon/Sausage

In the same skillet, cook the bacon or sausage over medium heat until crispy and browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Preparing the Toast

  1. 4

    Toast the Bread

While the eggs and meat are cooking, toast the slices of bread in a toaster or on a skillet. Once toasted, spread a little butter on top.

Cooking Breakfast Potatoes or Grits

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

If choosing breakfast potatoes, peel and dice the medium potatoes into small cubes. Heat a skillet with a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced potatoes, season with salt and pepper, and cook until golden brown and tender, about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  2. 6

    Prepare the Grits

If choosing grits, bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan. Stir in the grits and reduce heat to low. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
