For the Pimento Cheese

Method

Preparing the Pimento Cheese

1

Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the shredded sharp cheddar cheese, softened cream cheese, and mayonnaise. Stir until well blended.

2

Add Flavorings

Add the diced pimentos, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper to the mixture. Stir until all ingredients are combined and the mixture is creamy.

3

Chill the Pimento Cheese

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Cooking the Burgers

4

Prepare the Beef

In a mixing bowl, season the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix gently to combine, being careful not to overwork the meat.

5

Form the Patties

Divide the meat into four equal portions and shape each portion into a burger patty, approximately 1 inch thick.

6

Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting the time according to your desired doneness.

7

Assemble the Burgers

To assemble, place a cooked burger patty on the bottom half of each bun. Top with a generous scoop of pimento cheese, a dollop of habanero jam, a handful of leafy greens, and sliced tomatoes. Cover with the top half of the bun.
