Cooking Instructions

1

Prepare the Clams

Rinse the clams under cold water and scrub the shells to remove any dirt. Soak them in a bowl of fresh water for about 20 minutes to help them expel any sand.

2

Sauté Aromatics

In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped red onion and minced garlic, and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.

3

Add Tomatoes and Seasoning

Stir in the chopped tomato, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes until the tomatoes start to break down.

4

Steam the Clams

Add the cleaned clams to the pot and squeeze the juice of the lemon over them. Cover with a lid and steam for about 5-7 minutes, or until the clams open up.

5

Finish and Serve

Once the clams are open, remove from heat. Discard any clams that did not open. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately with crusty bread if desired.
