Gather all the ingredients and ensure they are measured properly.

Prepare the Ingredients

In a large pot, bring 2 gallons of water to a boil.

Boil the Water

Once the water is boiling, add the 4 cups of malted barley and stir. Allow it to steep for about 30 minutes.

After steeping, add the hops to the mixture and boil for an additional 15 minutes.

Remove the pot from heat and allow it to cool to around room temperature.

Cool the Mixture

Once cooled, transfer the mixture to a fermentation vessel and add the yeast. Stir gently.

Seal the fermentation vessel and let it sit in a cool, dark place for 1-2 weeks, or until fermentation is complete.

Fermentation

Once fermentation is complete, bottle your beer in clean bottles, and allow it to carbonate for another week.

Bottle the Beer
