Shrimp Po' Boy Ingredients
Method
Cooking Directions
Prepare the Shrimp
In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk and shrimp. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Prepare the Breading
In another bowl, mix the flour, cornmeal, Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
Coat the Shrimp
Remove the shrimp from the buttermilk and let the excess drip off. Dredge each shrimp in the flour mixture until fully coated.
Fry the Shrimp
In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Fry the shrimp in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Assemble the Po' Boy
Spread mayonnaise on the inside of the baguette. Layer with lettuce, tomato slices, and fried shrimp. Drizzle with hot sauce to taste.
Serve
Cut the Po' Boy in half and serve immediately.
