Preparation
Prepare the Glass
Begin by preparing your cocktail glass. Take a lemon wedge and rub it around the rim of the glass to moisten it. Then, dip the rim into a plate of granulated sugar to create a sugar rim. Set aside.
Mix the Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, combine the Hardy V.S. Cognac, Cointreau, and fresh lemon juice. Add ice cubes to the shaker, filling it about halfway.
Shake Well
Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until the mixture is well chilled.
Strain and Serve
Using a strainer, pour the mixture into the prepared cocktail glass, ensuring that no ice cubes make it into the glass.
Garnish
Finally, garnish your Sidecar with an orange twist by twisting the peel over the drink to release its oils, then place it on the rim of the glass.
