Mussels

Method

Prepare Mussels

1

Clean the Mussels

Rinse the mussels under cold water to remove any sand or debris. Scrub the shells with a brush and remove any beards.

2

Sauté Aromatics

In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and chopped shallots, and sauté until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.

3

Add Wine and Mussels

Pour in the dry white wine and bring to a simmer. Add the cleaned mussels, cover the pot, and cook for 5-7 minutes until the mussels open up. Discard any mussels that do not open.

4

Finish with Seasoning

Stir in the chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and remove from heat.

Cook Pasta

5

Boil Water

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil (1 tsp of salt for every quart of water).

6

Cook Pasta

Add angel hair pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions (usually about 4-5 minutes). Drain the pasta and toss it with olive oil.

Combine and Serve

7

Serve the Dish

Place a serving of angel hair pasta on a plate, top with mussels and their broth. Garnish with additional parsley if desired.
