Preparation
- 1
Chill Your Glass
Begin by chilling your cocktail glass. You can do this by filling it with ice water and setting it aside while you prepare the drink.
- 2
Muddle Basil
In a cocktail shaker, add the fresh basil leaves. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently press the leaves to release their aromatic oils.
- 3
Add Liquids
Pour in the Western Son Watermelon Vodka, St. Elder Liqueur, and fresh grapefruit juice into the shaker with the muddled basil.
- 4
Shake It Up
Fill the shaker with ice and secure the lid. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
- 5
Strain and Serve
Discard the ice water from your chilled glass. Using a fine mesh strainer, pour the cocktail mixture into the glass, ensuring no basil leaves make it through.
- 6
Garnish
Garnish the drink with a fresh basil leaf and a wedge of watermelon on the rim of the glass.
