Cocktail
Garnish & Rim
Method
Prepare Rim
- 1
Combine rim seasoning
On a small plate, mix the Tajin seasoning and coarse salt until evenly combined.
- 2
Run the lime wedge around the outside rim of a rocks or coupe glass to moisten it.
- 3
Dip the moistened rim into the Tajin-salt mixture, twisting to coat evenly. Set the glass aside.
Make Cocktail
- 4
If you don't have pre-made watermelon juice: seed and cube fresh watermelon, then press through a fine mesh strainer or blend and strain to yield fresh juice. Measure 3 oz of juice.
- 5
In a cocktail shaker, add the Ritual Zero Proof Tequila-style spirit (2 oz), fresh watermelon juice (3 oz), fresh lime juice (0.75 oz), agave syrup (0.25 oz, optional for extra sweetness), and 2 dashes of Tabasco sauce.
- 6
Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup or enough to half-fill the shaker). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is cold to the touch and well-chilled.
- 7
Fill the rimmed glass with fresh ice (optional: large cube or crushed, depending on preference).
- 8
Double-strain the shaken cocktail into the prepared glass to remove ice shards and any pulp (use a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer if available).
- 9
Taste and adjust: if the cocktail is too tart, add 0.25 oz agave and gently stir once; if you want more heat, add one additional dash of Tabasco and stir.
Garnish & Serve
- 10
Garnish the cocktail with a small watermelon wedge or cube on the rim or a lime wheel, and serve immediately.
- 11
Optional: For extra aroma, zest a thin strip of lime peel over the drink before dropping it in.
