Sparkling Beverage

Glassware & Garnish (optional)

Method

Prepare Glass

  1. 1

    Chill glass (optional)

If desired, place the glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill with ice water for 2 minutes to chill it, then discard ice/water. A chilled glass keeps the sparkling water colder longer.

  2. 2

Add 6 ice cubes to the prepared glass. Adjust amount of ice to personal preference; fewer cubes preserve more carbonation against dilution.

Pour Sparkling Water

  1. 3

Open one chilled bottle of San Pellegrino sparkling water gently to preserve effervescence. Hold the bottle at a slight angle and pour slowly down the side of the glass to reduce foam and keep bubbles fine.

  2. 4

Fill the glass leaving about 1/2 inch (1 cm) of headspace to allow bubbles to rise without overflowing.

Garnish & Serve

  1. 5

If using, run the lemon or lime wedge around the rim of the glass and drop the wedge into the drink for a bright citrus note. Alternatively, squeeze a small amount into the water for extra flavor.

  2. 6

Lightly clap the mint between your palms to release aroma and tuck the sprig into the drink as a garnish without muddling, preserving the clean sparkling flavor.

  3. 7

Stir gently once with a cocktail stirrer or long spoon if you added citrus, then serve immediately to enjoy maximum carbonation.
