Cocktail

1

Chill glass (optional)

Place a coupe or martini glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the drink to ensure the cocktail stays cold.

2

Combine ingredients

Add vodka, Chambord, pineapple juice, and gomme syrup into a cocktail shaker.

3

Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker with ice (about 4–6 oz) and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the exterior of the shaker feels very cold and a slight frost forms. This both chills and slightly dilutes the drink.

4

Strain

Discard ice from the chilled glass if you used ice water. Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe or martini glass using a Hawthorne and fine mesh strainer (or a single strainer if you don't have both) to remove small ice shards and any fruit particles.

5

Garnish and serve

Skewer the fresh raspberry (or drop it into the center of the drink) and place it on the rim or in the cocktail. Serve immediately.
