Method

Cocktail

1

Chill glass

Place a martini or coupe glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes or fill with ice water while you prepare the drink to chill it.

2

Combine ingredients

Add 2 oz New Amsterdam Vodka, 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice, 0.5 oz simple syrup, and 0.25 oz cranberry juice into a cocktail shaker. Add a generous handful of ice (about 1 cup) to the shaker.

3

Shake

Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker becomes well-chilled and the contents are diluted and slightly frothy.

4

Prepare glass

If you chilled the glass in the freezer, remove it. If you used ice water, discard the ice water and dry the glass.

5

Strain and serve

Using a strainer, double-strain (if you prefer no ice shards) the contents of the shaker into the chilled martini or coupe glass. The drink should be pale pink from the splash of cranberry.

6

Garnish

Express a lemon twist over the drink to release oils, then drop the twist or a thin lemon wheel onto the surface as garnish. Serve immediately.

Equipment

7

Use the jigger to measure spirits and juices accurately. Use the shaker and strainer to mix and chill the drink. Ensure the glass is chilled before serving for best presentation and temperature.
