Base Ingredients

Method

Preparation

1

Mix the Egg Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well combined.

2

Prepare the Bread

Take the thick slices of bread and ensure they are dry. If the bread is fresh, consider toasting it lightly before dipping to prevent sogginess.

Cooking

3

Heat the Pan

In a large skillet or griddle, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat until it is bubbling but not browned.

4

Dip and Cook the Bread

Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds on each side. Let the excess mixture drip off before placing it on the skillet. Cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.

5

Repeat Cooking

Add more butter to the pan as needed and repeat the process for the remaining slices of bread.

Serving

6

Plate and Top

Once all the French toast slices are cooked, stack them on a plate and add a pat of butter on top. Drizzle with warm maple syrup.

7

Add Fresh Fruits or Chocolate

For an additional charge, top with fresh blueberries, sliced strawberries, banana slices, or chocolate chips as desired.
