Cooking Instructions

1

Prep the Steak

Remove the porterhouse steak from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. This helps it cook evenly.

2

Season the Steak

Rub the steak with olive oil, then generously season both sides with kosher salt and black pepper. Sprinkle minced garlic and chopped rosemary on both sides.

3

Preheat the Grill/Pan

Preheat your grill or a cast-iron skillet over high heat for about 5-10 minutes until it's very hot.

4

Sear the Steak

Place the steak on the grill or skillet and sear for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a nice crust forms. Flip the steak and sear the other side for another 4-5 minutes.

5

Add Butter

In the last minute of cooking, add butter on top of the steak. Allow it to melt and baste the steak with the melted butter using a spoon.

6

Check for Doneness

Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. For medium-rare, aim for 130°F (54°C). Adjust cooking time as needed for your preferred doneness.

7

Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

8

Serve

Slice the steak against the grain and serve immediately with your favorite sides.
