Fried Gyozas
Method
Preparation and Cooking
Prepare the Filling
In a large bowl, combine ground pork, minced garlic, minced ginger, chopped green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
Assemble the Gyozas
Take a gyoza wrapper and place about a tablespoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges with water, fold the wrapper in half, and pinch to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
Fry the Gyozas
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the gyozas in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry until the bottoms are golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
Steam the Gyozas
Add a few tablespoons of water to the skillet (careful of splatter), cover immediately, and steam for about 5 minutes until the gyozas are cooked through.
Serve
Remove the gyozas from the skillet, and place them on a serving plate. Drizzle with house sauce, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and garnish with cilantro. Serve hot.
