For the Dirty Fries

Method

Cooking Instructions

1

Prepare the Potatoes

Wash the Russet potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt. Leave the skin on for added texture and flavor.

2

Cut the Potatoes

Cut the potatoes into thick strips, about 1/2 inch wide. Make sure the pieces are relatively uniform for even cooking.

3

Soak the Potatoes

Soak the potato strips in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. This helps achieve a crispier texture.

4

Heat the Oil

In a deep-fryer or a large pot, heat the peanut oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

5

Fry the Potatoes

Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels. Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil in small batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

6

Season the Fries

Remove the fries from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. While they are still hot, season with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder to taste.

7

Serve

Serve the dirty fries hot, either plain or with your favorite dipping sauce.
