Whipped Cream Base

Optional Serving & Garnish

Method

Prepare Oreo Mix-in

1

Crush Oreos

Place 10 whole Oreos (including filling) in a resealable plastic bag or a food processor. Pulse or crush with a rolling pin until you have a mix of fine crumbs and small chunks. Aim for mostly small crumbs with some 2–4 mm pieces for texture.

2

Optional stabilize

If you want the whipped cream to hold more structure (for piping or thicker texture), stir 1 teaspoon melted butter into the crumbs until evenly distributed. Let crumbs cool if butter warmed them before mixing with cream.

Make Whipped Cream

3

Chill equipment: for best results, place a metal mixing bowl and whisk or beaters in the refrigerator or freezer for 10–15 minutes before whipping. Cold tools help the cream whip faster and hold peaks.

4

Combine cream and flavorings: pour 1.5 cups chilled heavy cream into the chilled bowl. Add 3 tablespoons powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract, and a pinch of fine salt.

5

Whip to soft peaks: using an electric mixer on medium speed (or a whisk by hand), whip the cream mixture until it thickens and holds soft peaks—peaks that lift but curl over. This usually takes 2–4 minutes with a mixer, longer by hand.

6

Whip to medium-firm peaks (optional): if you prefer firmer whipped cream for piping or sturdier desserts, continue whipping to medium-firm peaks where peaks stand up with slight hold but are not grainy. Don’t overwhip to dryness.

Fold in Oreos and Finish

7

Reserve some crumbs: set aside about 2 tablespoons of the crushed Oreo crumbs for garnish.

8

Fold gently: add the remaining crushed Oreos to the whipped cream. Using a rubber spatula, gently fold the crumbs into the whipped cream 6–8 times until evenly distributed. Stop when the cream is uniformly speckled—avoid overfolding which deflates the cream.

9

Taste and adjust: taste a small amount. If you want sweeter, gently fold in up to 1 additional tablespoon powdered sugar, or more vanilla to taste.

10

Chill briefly: for best texture and to let crumbs meld, refrigerate the Oreo whipped cream in an airtight container for 15–30 minutes before serving. If piping, chill until slightly firmer (30–60 minutes).

11

Serve and garnish: spoon or pipe the Oreo whipped cream onto desserts, into cups, or onto cookies. Top with reserved Oreo crumbs, extra halves, and chocolate shavings or drizzle as desired.
