Measure and chill
Chill a Collins or highball glass by filling it with ice and setting aside while you mix the cocktail. This keeps the final drink cold without over-diluting.
In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz gin, 0.5 oz blue curaçao, and 0.5 oz vodka. The gin is the botanical backbone; blue curaçao adds color and orange notes while the vodka keeps the structure bright.
Citrus & Sweeteners
Add 0.75 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice and 0.5 oz simple syrup to the shaker. Fresh lemon juice balances the sweetness and brings brightness that lets the blue color sing.
Fill the shaker roughly two-thirds with ice (use fresh cubed ice). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the outside of the shaker frosts.
Effervescence & Finish
Garnish & Aromatics
Serve immediately with a straw or stirring rod so the guest can mix the champagne layer in, if used.
