Chill glassware and ingredients
Place Champagne flutes (or stemmed glasses) in the refrigerator or freezer for 10–15 minutes. Ensure both the sparkling wine and orange juice are well chilled before assembling — this keeps the drink fizzy and refreshing.
Pour orange juice
Fill each chilled flute about one-third full (approximately 2 to 3 tablespoons / 1/6 to 1/4 cup per serving if making multiple) with fresh orange juice. For this recipe scaled to one serving: pour 1/2 cup orange juice into each of two flutes or 1 cup into a single larger glass.
Add sparkling wine
Slowly pour the chilled Champagne or sparkling wine down the side of the glass to top up, pouring gently to preserve bubbles. The classic ratio is equal parts sparkling wine to orange juice (1:1). For this recipe: add 1 cup sparkling wine to 1 cup orange juice, or fill each flute to taste.
Garnish and serve
Garnish with an orange twist or a thin orange slice on the rim. Serve immediately while the drink is still effervescent.
