Kid-Friendly BBQ Meals

  1. 1

    Prep and gather

Gather all ingredients. Preheat grill or skillet to medium-high heat. Have buns ready for toasting.

  2. 2

    Prep toppings

Wash lettuce leaves; slice tomatoes into rounds; arrange pickle slices and lettuce on a plate for easy assembly.

  3. 3

    Toast buns

Lightly brush the cut sides of the hamburger buns with olive oil. Toast on the grill or in a skillet until golden.

  4. 4

    Season and shape patties

Season ground beef patties with a pinch of salt and pepper. Gently shape into 4 evenly sized patties about 3/4 inch thick.

  5. 5

    Cook patties and optional cheese

Cook patties on the grill for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium. For optional cheese upgrade, place one American cheese slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt. Note: Add cheese upgrade for an extra $1 per burger.

  6. 6

    Assemble burgers

Spread mayonnaise on the bottom bun and mustard on the top bun. Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun, add tomato rounds and pickle slices. Add the cooked patty (with melted cheese if used). Drizzle ketchup on the inside of the top bun.

  7. 7

    Serve

Cap with the top bun and serve immediately. Pair with kid-friendly sides like carrot sticks or baked fries.
