Nitro Cold Brew

Method

Nitro Cold Brew

  1. 1

Prepare cold brew if using concentrate

If your cold brew is a concentrate rather than ready-to-serve nitro, dilute the concentrate with cold water at a 1:1 ratio (8 oz concentrate + 8 oz cold water) and chill. If you already have a nitro cold brew can or keg, skip dilution.

  2. 2

    Dispense nitro cold brew

If using a nitro can or keg, chill it thoroughly (best served 38–45°F / 3–7°C). Pour 8 oz of nitro cold brew into a chilled 12–16 oz glass using a steady, angled pour to achieve a creamy cascade and thick crema. If you prefer the float with ice, add up to 4 ice cubes to the glass before pouring, but note ice will reduce crema thickness.

Ice Cream Float Assembly

  1. 3

    Add chocolate sauce

Drizzle about 1 tablespoon of chocolate sauce into the bottom and around the inside of the glass to coat the walls slightly. Reserve 1 tablespoon for topping.

  2. 4

    Add ice cream

Gently place 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream into the glass with the poured nitro cold brew. For best presentation, nest the first scoop so it sits partly submerged and place the second scoop on top.

  3. 5

Top with chocolate sauce and whipped cream

Drizzle the remaining ~1 tablespoon of chocolate sauce over the ice cream. Finish with about 2 tablespoons of whipped cream, either freshly whipped or from a can, forming a generous peak.

  4. 6

    Garnish and serve

Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of chocolate shavings or a light dusting of cocoa powder over the whipped cream. Serve immediately with a long spoon and a straw so the drinker can enjoy both spooned ice cream and sippable nitro cold brew.
