Chill and prepare glass
Place a tall glass into the freezer for 5–10 minutes beforehand if you prefer extra cold Coke. Otherwise, select a clean tall glass and set it on a stable surface.
Add ice
Add 4–6 ice cubes to the chilled glass, leaving room at the top for the Coke and garnish.
Garnish and serve
Squeeze the lime wedge lightly over the Coke if you want a citrus accent, then drop the wedge into the glass or discard. Add a maraschino cherry on top if desired. Serve immediately with a straw or stirrer.
