Method

Brew Tea

1

Boil water

Pour 2 cups of fresh cold water into a small saucepan or kettle. Bring to a rolling boil over medium-high heat (about 3–5 minutes depending on appliance).

2

Add tea

Place 2 tea bags into a heatproof teapot or two heatproof mugs. If using loose leaf tea, measure about 2 teaspoons total into an infuser.

3

Steep

Pour the boiling water over the tea bags or infuser. Cover the pot or place a small saucer over the mug to retain heat. Steep for 3–5 minutes: 3 minutes for lighter flavor, 4 minutes for standard black tea, 5 minutes for stronger brew.

4

Remove tea bags

Lift out the tea bags or infuser and gently press once against the side with a spoon if you prefer stronger flavor. Discard tea bags/contents.

Customize & Serve

5

Sweeten: Stir in 1 teaspoon honey or sugar while the tea is hot so it dissolves fully. Adjust to taste (start with 1 tsp).

6

Milk or lemon: For a creamy cup, add 2 tablespoons milk and stir. For a bright, citrus cup, squeeze a lemon wedge and drop it in. Do not add lemon if you added milk (it may curdle).

7

Optional aromatics: If using fresh ginger, add the 3 slices to the boiling water before pouring over tea and steep together for a ginger-infused tea. If using mint leaves, bruise them slightly and add to the mug during steeping or as a garnish.

8

Final check & serve: Taste and adjust sweetener, milk, or lemon as needed. Serve immediately while hot. Use a saucer or coaster to avoid scalding surfaces.
