Cocktail
Garnish & Rim
Method
Prep the rim
Pour sea salt and chili powder (or Tajín) onto a small plate and mix to create a spicy-salt rim.
Run the lime wedge around the outside rim of a rocks or coupe glass to wet it evenly.
Dip the wet rim into the spicy-salt mixture, rotating to coat about half to three-quarters of the rim (adjust amount of spice to taste). Set the glass aside.
Shake & strain
Add Cimarron Reposado tequila (2 oz), fresh lime juice (1 oz) and agave syrup (0.5 oz) to a cocktail shaker.
Fill the shaker with ice (about 6 standard ice cubes).
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels cold and slightly frosted.
Double-strain (using the shaker strainer and a fine mesh strainer if available) into the prepared glass over fresh ice (optional) or serve neat in a chilled glass per preference.
Finish
Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim or floated on the drink.
Serve immediately. Suggestion: if you prefer more heat, lightly dust the top of the finished margarita with a pinch of chili powder or use more Tajín on the rim.
