Espressito

Method

Espressito

1

Brew & cool

Brew 1 oz very strong espresso (or concentrate). Let it cool for 1–2 minutes so it won’t melt the ice immediately.

2

Add cooled espresso, 1 oz Kahlúa, 0.5 oz vodka and simple syrup (if using) into a cocktail shaker filled halfway with ice.

3

Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is cold and you see a frothy crema forming.

4

Double-strain into a chilled 1.5–2 oz shot glass to remove ice chips and achieve a smooth, slightly frothy shot. Serve immediately.

Irish Cousins

5

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add 1 oz Irish whiskey, 1 oz Baileys Irish Cream and 0.25 oz green crème de menthe.

6

Gently shake for 8–10 seconds to chill and slightly aerate the cream without over-diluting.

7

Strain into a chilled 1.5–2 oz shot glass. Optionally, garnish with a tiny mint leaf or a light dusting of cocoa. Serve immediately.

Tropical Depression

8

Add 0.75 oz rum, 0.75 oz pineapple juice, 0.5 oz blue curaçao, 0.25 oz cream of coconut and 0.25 tsp fresh lime juice into a shaker filled with ice.

9

Shake hard for 10–12 seconds until well chilled and slightly frothy.

10

Strain into a chilled 1.5–2 oz shot glass. The shot should be bright blue with a slight creamy texture. Serve immediately.
