Our Free Wave Hazy IPA is meant for the open road. Whether you’re cruising the Pacific Coast Highway in a convertible or tracing your way up the coast on your bike.

In a large brew kettle, heat 3 gallons of water to approximately 165°F (74°C). Add the Pale Malt, Flaked Oats, and Wheat Malt to the heated water. Stir well to ensure all grains are soaked.

Prepare the Mash

Maintain the mash temperature at around 150°F (65°C) for 60 minutes. This allows the enzymes in the malt to convert starches into sugars.

Mashing Process

After mashing, sparge the grains with an additional 2 gallons of water heated to 170°F (77°C) to rinse out the sugars.

Sparging

Bring the collected wort to a rolling boil, then add Citra Hops and Mosaic Hops. Boil for 60 minutes.

Boil the Wort

In the last 5 minutes of the boil, add the Amarillo Hops and Lactose to contribute flavor and sweetness.

Add Late Hops

After boiling, cool the wort rapidly to around 70°F (21°C) using a wort chiller or ice bath.

Cool the Wort

Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermenter and pitch the American Ale Yeast. Seal the fermenter with an airlock.

Pitch the Yeast

Allow the beer to ferment at a steady temperature of around 68°F (20°C) for 1-2 weeks, until fermentation is complete.

Fermentation Period

Once fermentation is complete, bottle the beer using sanitized bottles and caps. Optionally add priming sugar for carbonation.

Bottling

Let the bottles condition at room temperature for 1-2 weeks before refrigerating and enjoying.
