Cooking Instructions

1

Prepare the Rice

Rinse the long-grain white rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Drain and set aside.

2

Cook the Meat

In a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat, brown the ground beef and ground pork until cooked through. Drain any excess fat.

3

Add Vegetables

To the skillet with the meat, add the chopped onion, green bell pepper, celery, and minced garlic. Sauté until the vegetables are soft, about 5-7 minutes.

4

Season the Mixture

Stir in the cajun seasoning, bay leaves, black pepper, and salt. Mix well to combine.

5

Cook the Rice

Add the rinsed rice to the skillet and pour in the chicken broth. Stir to combine all ingredients.

6

Simmer

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for about 20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.

7

Finishing Touches

Remove from heat, discard bay leaves, and fluff the rice with a fork. Stir in sliced green onions before serving.
