Main Ingredients

Skillet Fried Potatoes

Method

Preparing the Filet Mignon

1

Sear the Filet

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a tablespoon of olive oil. Season the filet mignon with salt and pepper. Once the oil is hot, add the filets and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting cooking time for desired doneness.

2

Add Mandarin Liqueur

Once the filets are cooked to your liking, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes. In the same skillet, pour in the mandarin liqueur and scrape any browned bits from the bottom. Allow it to simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly reduced.

Preparing Skillet Fried Potatoes

3

Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into small cubes. Rinse under cold water to remove excess starch and pat dry with a towel.

4

Fry the Potatoes

In a large skillet, heat the remaining olive oil over medium heat. Add the garlic, minced, and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Add the cubed potatoes and season with salt and black pepper. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown and crispy.

5

Garnish and Serve

Once the potatoes are cooked, remove them from heat and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve alongside the filet mignon drizzled with the mandarin liqueur reduction.
