Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the 9 oz New York Strip Steak out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. This helps ensure even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the steak with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of garlic powder evenly over both sides of the steak. Finally, add the fresh rosemary, pressing it into the meat.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Pan

Heat a heavy skillet (preferably cast iron) over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes until it is very hot.

  4. 4

    Cook the Steak

Once the pan is hot, carefully place the seasoned steak in the skillet. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it. Flip the steak and cook for another 4-5 minutes on the other side for medium-rare, or adjust the time according to your desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your liking, remove the steak from the skillet and place it on a cutting board. Cover loosely with aluminum foil and let it rest for 5-10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.

  6. 6

    Serve

After resting, slice against the grain and serve immediately. Enjoy your perfectly cooked New York Strip Steak!
