Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Steak
Take the 9 oz New York Strip Steak out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. This helps ensure even cooking.
- 2
Season the Steak
Rub the steak with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of garlic powder evenly over both sides of the steak. Finally, add the fresh rosemary, pressing it into the meat.
- 3
Preheat the Pan
Heat a heavy skillet (preferably cast iron) over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes until it is very hot.
- 4
- 5
Rest the Steak
Once cooked to your liking, remove the steak from the skillet and place it on a cutting board. Cover loosely with aluminum foil and let it rest for 5-10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
- 6
Serve
After resting, slice against the grain and serve immediately. Enjoy your perfectly cooked New York Strip Steak!
