Method
Brewing Process
- 1
Mashing
In a large mash tun, combine the barley malt and hot water at 65°C. Allow the mixture to steep for about 60 minutes to convert the starches in the malt into sugars.
- 2
Lautering
After mashing, transfer the mixture to a lauter tun. Rinse the grains with hot water to extract as much sugar as possible. Collect the liquid, known as wort.
- 3
Boiling
Bring the wort to a boil and add hops. Boil for approximately 60 minutes to extract flavors and bitterness from the hops.
- 4
Cooling
After boiling, cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller to around 20°C to prepare for fermentation.
- 5
Fermentation
Transfer the cooled wort to a fermentation vessel and add yeast. Seal the vessel and allow fermentation to occur for about 1-2 weeks at a controlled temperature.
- 6
Conditioning
After fermentation, transfer the beer to a conditioning tank. This allows the flavors to mature and any unwanted particles to settle out.
- 7
Packaging
Once conditioning is complete, package the beer into bottles or kegs for distribution. Ensure proper sanitation to avoid contamination.
