Directions
- 1
Prepare the Beef Patty
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- 2
Form and Cook the Patties
Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions and form into patties about 1 inch thick. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach the desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and keep warm.
- 3
Caramelize the Onions
In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil. Add the sliced onion and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the onions are caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.

- 5
Make the Sauce
Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water until smooth. Stir the cornstarch mixture into the skillet and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- 6
Serve
Place the cooked patties on plates and spoon the caramelized onion and mushroom sauce over the top. Serve immediately.
