Brewing Process

  1. 1

    Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients

Gather all the ingredients needed for brewing Bud Light. Ensure that the water is clean and free from impurities.

  2. 2

    Step 2: Mashing

In a large brew kettle, heat 92 liters of water to around 68°C (155°F). Add 8 kilograms of malted barley and 1 kilogram of rice to the water, stirring well. Maintain this temperature for about 60 minutes to allow the starches to convert to sugars.

  3. 3

    Step 3: Lautering

After mashing, drain the liquid (wort) from the solid grain mixture. Rinse the grains with hot water (around 76°C or 169°F) to extract additional sugars. Collect the wort in another kettle.

  4. 4

    Step 4: Boiling

Bring the wort to a boil. Once boiling, add 0.1 kilograms of hops and boil for 60 minutes. This process will add bitterness and flavor to the beer.

  5. 5

    Step 5: Cooling the Wort

After boiling, quickly cool the wort to around 20°C (68°F) using a wort chiller or ice bath to prevent contamination.

  6. 6

    Step 6: Fermentation

Transfer the cooled wort to a fermentation vessel and pitch in 0.02 kilograms of yeast. Seal the vessel with an airlock and let it ferment in a cool, dark place for about 1 to 2 weeks.

  7. 7

    Step 7: Bottling

After fermentation is complete, siphon the beer into clean bottles, leaving some space at the top. Cap the bottles to seal them.

  8. 8

    Step 8: Conditioning

Allow the bottled beer to condition in a cool, dark place for at least 1 week to develop flavors.

  9. 9

    Step 9: Enjoy

Chill the bottles in the refrigerator and enjoy your homemade Bud Light responsibly!
