Preparation

1

Brown the Meat

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and chorizo sausage. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.

2

Sauté Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the chopped onion, bell pepper, garlic, and jalapeño (if using). Sauté until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.

Cooking

3

Combine Ingredients in Crockpot

Transfer the browned meat and sautéed vegetables to a large crockpot. Add diced tomatoes, tomato paste, kidney beans, black beans, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce.

4

Mix Well

Stir all ingredients together until well combined. Make sure the spices and liquids are evenly distributed.

5

Cook on Low

Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or high for 3-4 hours, until the chili is thick and the flavors meld together.

Serving

6

Serve the Chili

Once cooked, stir the chili and serve hot. Top with your favorite toppings such as shredded cheese, sour cream, or chopped green onions, if desired.
