Preparation
Prepare the Glass
Rim a rocks glass with lime juice and dip it in salt to coat the rim. Set aside.
Mix the Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine 2 oz of mezcal, 1 oz of fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz of agave syrup, and 0.5 oz of Cointreau or triple sec.
Shake Well
Shake the cocktail shaker vigorously for about 15 seconds to chill and combine the ingredients.
Strain and Serve
Strain the mixture into the prepared rocks glass filled with fresh ice.
Garnish
Garnish with a lime wheel on the rim of the glass and serve immediately.
