Prairie Path Ale is a Belgian-style golden ale. Prairie Path Ale is a full flavored, slightly bitter, clean and refreshing ale. The Belgian malts along with the Saaz and Goldings hops give this beer great drinkability. Brewed specially to remove gluten.

In a large brew kettle, heat 6 gallons of water to 165°F (74°C). Add the Gluten-Free Belgian Pale Malt and Gluten-Free Munich Malt. Stir well to ensure there are no clumps.

Prepare the Mash

Maintain the mash temperature at 152°F (67°C) for 60 minutes. Stir occasionally to maintain even temperature.

Mash the Grains

After the mash is complete, sparge the grains with hot water (around 170°F or 77°C) to collect about 6 gallons of wort in the brew kettle.

Sparging

Bring the wort to a boil. Once boiling, add the Saaz hops and boil for 60 minutes.

Boil the Wort

With 15 minutes left in the boil, add the Goldings hops and Irish Moss (if using) to help with clarity.

After the boil is complete, cool the wort rapidly using a wort chiller or an ice bath until it reaches approximately 70°F (21°C).

Cool the Wort

Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermentation vessel. Pitch the Belgian yeast and seal the container with an airlock. Allow it to ferment at 68-72°F (20-22°C) for about 2 weeks.

Fermentation

After fermentation is complete, mix the corn sugar with a small amount of water to create a syrup. Add this syrup to the beer before bottling to carbonate. Bottle the beer and let it condition at room temperature for another 2 weeks.

Bottle Conditioning

Once conditioning is complete, chill the bottles in the refrigerator and enjoy your homemade Prairie Path Ale!
