Cocktail

Method

Prepare Mug

1

Chill

If possible, chill the copper mug in the freezer for 5–10 minutes beforehand to keep the cocktail very cold.

2

Add ice to the chilled mug until about 3/4 full. Using crushed ice will make the drink colder faster, but cubed ice is fine.

Mix Cocktail

3

Measure 2 oz vodka using a jigger and pour it over the ice in the mug.

4

Measure 1/2 oz (about 1 tablespoon) fresh lime juice. Squeeze fresh lime rather than using bottled for best flavor. Add the lime juice to the mug.

5

Top the mug with about 4 oz cold ginger beer. Pour slowly to preserve carbonation and avoid overflow.

6

Gently stir once or twice with a bar spoon to combine vodka, lime juice, and ginger beer. Avoid vigorous stirring to keep carbonation.

Garnish & Serve

7

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. If desired, lightly slap a mint sprig between your palms to release aroma and tuck it into the mug.

8

Serve immediately while cold. Optionally, provide a straw.
