Method
Tiramisu Directions
Prepare the Coffee Mixture
Brew 1 cup of espresso and let it cool slightly. Then, stir in 1 tablespoon of rum.
Whip the Cream
In a mixing bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
Mix Mascarpone
In another bowl, combine 16 oz of mascarpone cheese, 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
Combine Mixtures
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
Soak Lady Fingers
Quickly dip each lady finger into the espresso mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
Layer the Tiramisu
In a serving dish, layer half of the soaked lady fingers, then half of the mascarpone mixture. Repeat with remaining lady fingers and mascarpone.
Chill and Serve
Refrigerate the tiramisu for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder.
