Fried Fish Directions
Prepare the Fish
Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Set aside.
Make the Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine the cornmeal, rice flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually add water to the mixture while whisking until you achieve a smooth batter.
Coat the Fish
Dip each fish fillet into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated. Allow any excess batter to drip off.
Heat the Oil
In a large frying pan or skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
Fry the Fish
Carefully place the coated fish fillets in the hot oil. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Avoid overcrowding the pan.
Drain and Serve
Once cooked, remove the fish from the oil and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with lemon wedges.
