In a large pot, heat 4 cups of water to about 160°F (70°C). Add the Pilsner malt and stir well. Maintain the temperature at around 150°F (65°C) for 60 minutes.

Mashing the Grains

After mashing, bring the mixture to a boil. Once boiling, add the Saaz hops and boil for 60 minutes. Stir occasionally.

Boiling the Wort

After boiling, cool the wort quickly using an immersion chiller or an ice bath until it reaches about 70°F (21°C).

Cooling the Wort

Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermenter and add the lager yeast. Seal the fermenter and allow it to ferment at a cool temperature (around 50°F or 10°C) for 2 weeks.

Fermentation

After fermentation is complete, dissolve the priming sugar in a small amount of boiling water and add it to the beer. Bottle the beer and cap each bottle.

Bottling

Allow the bottles to condition at room temperature for 1-2 weeks before refrigerating. Enjoy your homemade Fahr Pilsner!
