Cake Preparation
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, baking powder, and salt.
Cream Butter and Sugar
In a large bowl, beat the butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add Eggs and Buttermilk
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then mix in the buttermilk and vanilla extract.
Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
Bake the Cake
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Chill and Serve
Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours before serving. Top each slice with huckleberry sauce, fresh figs, blackberries, and a scoop of plum ice cream.
