Method
Cocktail
- 1
Chill glass
Place a martini or coupe glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to chill it.
- 2
Add pear vodka (2 oz), ginger liqueur (0.5 oz), pear puree or nectar (1 oz), fresh lemon juice (0.5 oz), and simple syrup (0.25 oz) to a cocktail shaker.
- 3
Fill the shaker with ice (about 6 cubes) and secure the lid.
- 4
Shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is well-chilled and slightly frosted. This chills and slightly dilutes the mixture for balance.
- 5
Discard the ice or water from the chilled martini/coupe glass. Double-strain the cocktail into the glass using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer to remove any pear fiber or small ice shards for a silky texture.
