Cocktail
Chill glass (optional)
If you prefer a colder drink, place your coupe or rocks glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail.
Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
Add Tito's Handmade Vodka (2 oz), elderflower liqueur (0.75 oz), fresh grapefruit juice (1 oz), and fresh lemon juice (0.5 oz) to the shaker.
If you prefer the cocktail slightly sweeter, add 0.25 oz simple syrup. For a drier finish, omit the syrup.
Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the exterior of the shaker is frosty and well chilled.
Discard ice from the chilled glass (if used). Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe or an ice-filled rocks glass using a Hawthorne and fine strainer to remove pulp and small ice shards.
If you want a slightly effervescent, lighter version, top the cocktail with approximately 1 oz of soda water and stir gently once to combine.
Garnish & Serve
Express a grapefruit twist over the drink by holding the twist over the glass and gently pinching to release oils, then run the twist around the rim and drop it into the drink (or perch a grapefruit wedge on the rim).
Optionally slap a sprig of mint or thyme between your palms to release aromatics and rest it on the cocktail.
Serve immediately.
