Prepare the Asparagus
Wash the asparagus and trim the tough ends. Cut the asparagus into 2-inch pieces.
Make the Sauce
In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, miso paste, toasted sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes until well combined.
Stir-Fry the Asparagus
Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the asparagus and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they start to become tender.
Add the Sauce
Pour the sauce over the asparagus and stir well to coat. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the asparagus is fully cooked and the sauce is heated through.
Serve
Transfer the cooked asparagus to a serving dish and top with crispy shallots and toasted sesame seeds. Serve warm.
