Raspberry Mojito (per 1 serving)
Blueberry Mojito (per 1 serving)
Classic Mojito Method
1. Prepare Glass
Choose a highball or Collins glass. Add 1 tsp raw sugar (if using) to the bottom of the glass. Add 10 fresh mint leaves and 0.75 oz fresh lime juice.
2. Muddle
Gently muddle the mint, sugar, and lime juice with a muddler or the back of a spoon. Press just enough to release the oils from the mint — do not shred the leaves.
3. Add Spirit and Ice
Add 2 oz white rum to the glass. Fill the glass about three-quarters with crushed ice (approximately 1 cup).
4. Top and Stir
Add 0.75 oz simple syrup if you did not use raw sugar earlier (or to taste). Top with 2 oz club soda. Using a long bar spoon, gently lift and stir from bottom to top 6–8 times to integrate the ingredients and chill the drink without bruising the mint excessively.
5. Garnish and Serve
Slap a mint sprig between your palms to release aromatics and place it and a lime wedge on the rim. Serve with a straw.
Raspberry Mojito Variation
6. In the glass, add 6 fresh raspberries along with the mint leaves and sugar (or use the 0.75 oz simple syrup). Muddle gently to break up the raspberries and release juice while avoiding pulverizing the seeds too much.
7. Proceed with adding 0.5 oz raspberry purée or liqueur (optional), then add the 2 oz white rum and 0.75 oz lime juice (if not already added during muddling). Add crushed ice, top with 2 oz club soda, stir gently, and garnish with a few whole raspberries and a mint sprig.
Blueberry Mojito Variation
8. Place 12 fresh blueberries in the glass with the mint leaves and sugar (or use the 0.75 oz simple syrup). Muddle gently to bruise the berries and release their juices, taking care not to over-muddle the mint.
9. Add 0.5 oz blueberry purée or liqueur (optional), then add 2 oz white rum and 0.75 oz lime juice (if not already added during muddling). Fill with crushed ice, top with 2 oz club soda, stir gently to combine, and garnish with a few whole blueberries and a mint sprig.
Notes & Scaling
10. To make multiple servings, multiply all per-serving ingredient quantities. If preparing a pitcher (for 6 servings), muddle mint, fruit (if using), lime juice and simple syrup in a mixing pitcher, add 12 oz rum, fill with ice, top with about 12 oz club soda just before serving, stir gently, and pour into glasses with fresh ice and garnishes.
11. Adjust sweetness to taste by increasing or decreasing simple syrup. Use crushed ice for a classic texture; shaken ice yields a slightly different clarity and dilution.
