Bottle & Glassware

Method

Serving Elijah Craig Neat or On the Rocks

1

Chill glass (optional)

If you prefer a slightly cooler pour, place a rocks glass in the freezer for 10–15 minutes or fill it with ice and water while preparing other elements; discard the ice water before pouring.

2

Add ice (if serving on the rocks)

If you want the bourbon on the rocks, add one large ice cube or sphere to a rocks glass. A single large piece melts slowly and preserves flavor.

3

Pour bourbon

Measure and pour 2 oz Elijah Craig Small Batch into the prepared glass over the ice (or directly into the chilled glass if serving neat).

4

Optional aromatic accent

If using bitters, add 1 dash of Angostura bitters to the bourbon and give the glass a gentle swirl (about 5–10 seconds) to integrate.

5

Add water (optional)

If you prefer a slightly more open, less intense flavor, add 1 tsp of cold water to the bourbon, stir gently for 5 seconds, and taste. Add more water in 1 tsp increments until desired balance is reached.

6

Express orange oil & garnish

Take an orange peel, hold it over the glass with the peel facing down, and give it a sharp twist to express the oils over the surface. Rub the peel's rim along the glass edge and drop the twist into the drink (or hang it on the rim).

7

Serve

Present the glass to the guest or enjoy yourself. Sip slowly to appreciate the aroma and tasting notes: caramel, vanilla, warm spice, and toasted oak.
