French Fries

Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips.

Heat the Oil

In a deep fryer or large pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

Fry the Potatoes

Fry the potato strips in batches until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.

Drain and Season

Remove fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt to taste.
