Cocktail

1

Prepare

Chill a coupe or martini glass in the freezer for a few minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail. If using an egg white, separate the egg now and keep the white ready.

2

Dry shake (if using egg white)

In a cocktail shaker, combine the gin, dry vermouth, fresh lemon juice, rose syrup, orange liqueur, and the egg white (if using). Seal the shaker and shake vigorously without ice for 15–20 seconds to emulsify the egg white and create a silky texture.

3

Wet shake

Open the shaker and add a good handful of ice (about 1 cup). Seal and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosty on the outside.

4

Strain

Discard the ice or water from the chilled glass. Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe/martini glass using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer to remove ice shards and any small solids, producing a smooth, pale pink drink.

5

Garnish & serve

Express a lemon twist over the surface to release oils, run it around the rim, and drop it in (or float a small edible rose petal). Serve immediately and enjoy. Adjust rose syrup next time if you prefer more or less floral sweetness.
