Method

Base

1

Chill and prepare

Place sparkling water in the refrigerator until well chilled (at least 30 minutes). If using a canned product, chill the can before opening. Fill a tall pitcher or large glass with 1 cup of ice cubes.

2

Pour 4 cups of chilled sparkling water into the iced pitcher or glass gently to preserve carbonation.

Citrus & Flavor

3

Add 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice and 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice to the sparkling water. Stir gently with a long spoon 6–8 times to combine without flattening the bubbles.

4

Stir in 1 teaspoon agave or simple syrup until dissolved. Taste and adjust — add up to 1/2 teaspoon more syrup if you prefer slightly sweeter.

5

Bruise the mint leaves: hold the mint between your palms and clap once to release oils, then gently clap the leaves against the back of your hand and add them to the pitcher or glass.

6

Toss in 4 thin cucumber slices and stir once gently to distribute their subtle flavor.

Garnish (optional)

7

Float a lime wheel on top and add a sprig of mint for aroma and presentation. Serve immediately while effervescent.
