Chill liquids
Place the sparkling mineral water and cold still water in the refrigerator until very cold (about 30 minutes) if not already chilled. Cold liquids preserve carbonation and give a crisper mouthfeel.
Pour 1 cup chilled sparkling water and 1/2 cup chilled still water into a large glass or pitcher. Stir gently once or twice to combine without agitating the carbonation too much.
Citrus & flavor
Add 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice and 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice to the sparkling water mixture. Fresh juices brighten the mineral water while keeping the character light.
Stir in 1 teaspoon simple syrup (adjust to taste). If you prefer less sweetness, omit or reduce to 1/2 teaspoon. For a floral/honey note, use honey syrup (1:1 honey to water) warmed and cooled.
Garnish & finish
Fill a serving glass with about 1 cup of ice cubes. Strain or pour the Pellegrino mixture over the ice to keep it sparkling and cold.
Garnish with a thin lemon wheel or wedge on the rim and optionally a fresh mint sprig lightly slapped to release aroma. Serve immediately.
